Most of this backyard was covered in asphalt and the front yard grass was receding. The client wanted a simple, shade-friendly design for the front yard and more usable space in the back for kids to play and host pool parties. The concrete around the pool was cracked, and an open square remained where a hot tub had been removed. There was also flooding around the pool area. We repaired and resurfaced the concrete, then installed a drain on the pool deck to alleviate flooding. Removing all the asphalt, we created a lush grassy area and planted a colorful, low-maintenance bed along the back of the house. The result is a functional, inviting outdoor space tailored to the family’s lifestyle and needs.
