Our client wanted a deck, so we explored several options before settling on a retaining wall design that offered both style and function. We built a retaining wall to frame the deck’s footprint, then filled the space with roadbase and topped it with pavers and gravel for a durable, low maintenance surface. The yard features two inviting patio areas surrounded by thoughtfully designed planting beds. To manage water runoff, since the property channels neighborhood water to a holding pond, we engineered a natural looking creek lined with rocks and boulders excavated from the site. The planting palette reflects a French provincial aesthetic with fragrant lavender, crisp white blooms, and subtle hints of soft pink to create an elegant yet relaxed outdoor space.
